New Business Hotel Opens in Canary Wharf
A new business hotel has opened in London's docklands.
The hotel, which opened on July 5th 2006, cost some £53 million to build.
Featuring a 400-capacity ballroom with water views and three executive floors, the hotel may be perfect for large formal events.
With 283 rooms, the Hilton London canary Wharf is opposite the South Quays Docklands Light Railway, so is easily accessible from the London Underground.
However, for businessmen too busy to take the train, the airport offers a helicopter service from Heathrow airport to the Isle of Dogs and a chauffeur transfer to the hotel.
The hotel also features plasma-screen TVs and working areas for guests.
Oliver Stockland the hotel's general manager, told the Times: "The hotel has been designed to be surprising and different, with spacious and modern facilities not forgetting all of the high standards of service that have come to be expected from Hilton."
Double rooms at the hotel start at £79.20 excluding breakfast.
