Notting Hill to Party on

Notting Hill to party on London's most famous street party, the Notting Hill Carnival, is set to bring the city to life again this weekend.

Taking place over August 27th and 28th, the event is one of the largest festivals in Europe, with over half a million revellers expected to attend.

Sound systems will pump out the music all day, although many fun-seekers will party well into the night, possibly stopping only for a nap in one of the city's cheap hotels.

A wide, varied range of music is on show, from Sancho Panza and Norman Jay's Good Times, to Mikey Dread's One Love Roots Reggae show.

Stalls of delicious Caribbean food will also be available throughout the venue, with jerk chicken, and Jamaican patties and curries in abundance for the peckish partygoers.

Another highlight of the event are the floats, colourful moveable feasts of entertainment, which will wend their merry way through the area.
