Oliver! Heads to the York Stage
Musical fans will be able to treat themselves to a night at the theatre while staying in cheap hotels in York later this year.
Oliver! will have a short run at the York Grand Opera House from September 7th to 12th, with a matinee and an evening performance on the final day.
Produced by York Stage Musicals, the show is based on Charles Dickens' timeless novel Oliver Twist, which follows a young orphan trying to make his way through adversity in London, encountering all sorts of unsavoury characters along the way.
Featuring numbers such as Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two and Oom Pah Pah, Oliver! is one of the most popular and best-known British musicals.
Following the show's run later this year, the York Grand Opera House will play host to two performances by Jimmy Carr on September 13th and 14th, followed by the musical theatre compilation Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance on September 17th.
