Pearl Jam to Play Manchester
Music fans who were into the grunge movement of the 1990s will know the name of Pearl Jam, a band who will be visiting the UK as part of an international tour this year.
Following gigs in Rotterdam and Berlin, Pearl Jam will play at the MEN Arena in Manchester on August 17th before a gig at the O2 Arena in London the following evening.
The group will then return to the United States for shows in Toronto, Chicago and San Francisco before the end of August.
Pearl Jam rose to fame in the early 1990s as part of the Seattle grunge scene and, along with Nirvana, were one of the biggest contributors to the mainstream success of hard rock during the period.
Their 2009 tour will build-up to the release of Backspacer, the band's ninth studio album, which is due to come out in September this year.
Music fans staying in cheap hotels in Manchester will be able to see several shows at the MEN Arena over the coming months, including a gig by Elbow on September 18th.
