Pete Doherty Plays Royal Albert Hall
People staying in cheap hotels in London will be able to see one of the most controversial figures in modern music play the city's grandest venue in April.
Pete Doherty, the former Libertines singer who has appeared in newspapers as much for his brushes with the law as for his music, will perform at the Royal Albert Hall on April 26th.
This show will be the biggest solo gig that Doherty has ever played.
He is currently with the band Babyshambles, who have released two studio albums, but is best known for his musical work with the Libertines.
Doherty's solo album is scheduled for a summer release this year.
The Royal Albert Hall will show in April that it is nothing if not eclectic in its choice of programmes, as it will present a performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on April 6th followed by a Paul Weller gig on April 10th.
Weller's show will be part of a series of gigs held in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust, which will also include concerts by Muse and the Fratellis.
