Piaf Heads to London's West End

Piaf heads to London's West End Hit musical Piaf will be transferred to the West End this year for a limited 14-week season, according to the Official London Theatre Guide.

Theatre lovers staying in cheap hotels in London will be able to see Piaf at the Vaudeville from October 21st to January 24th after it finishes its run at the Donmar Warehouse on September 20th.

The show follows the life of French singing icon Edith Piaf from her rise out of poverty to fame and her subsequent descent into drug addiction and depression.

Some of the star's most famous songs feature in the musical, including L'Accordeoniste and Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.

Michael Grandage, artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse, said: "I am delighted that the Donmar's production of Piaf is transferring to the West End.

"We are enormously proud of it and particularly pleased that all the people who were unable to see it at the Donmar will now have an opportunity to catch it in its limited run at the Vaudeville theatre."

The title role in Piaf is played by Elena Roger, an actress who starred as another iconic woman, Eva Peron, in Evita.
