Prepare Your Viking Costumes for a Visit to York
People interested in Britain's Viking history should dig out their wigs and horned helmets in readiness for the Jorvik Viking Festival to be held in York next year.
Between February 13th and 17th people staying in cheap hotels in York can take part in an international celebration of the city's heritage, as people flock to northern England from all over the world.
The 2008 event will be the 23rd annual festival celebrating York's Viking history.
There will be a number of strange and exciting goings-on, including recreations of famous Viking battles.
Over 100 hundred arts, music and drama events will take place over the five days of the festival, as well as contributions from special guests including TV presenter and historian Dan Snow.
People who really want to immerse themselves in York's heritage can visit its Jorvik Viking Centre, the National Railway Museum or the York Castle Museum.
