Rowntree Theatre Presents West Side Story
City breaks in York will provide some top-class entertainment for musical fans this summer when the Joseph Rowntree Theatre hosts a production of West Side Story.
The highly popular show features music and lyrics by two of the greats of musical theatre - Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim.
People staying in cheap hotels in York will be able to see the Northern Musical Theatre Company's production of West Side Story at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre from July 21st to August 1st.
The show retells the story of Romeo and Juliet, with the famous play's star-crossed lovers replaced by two members of opposing gang cultures.
Professional choreography by Christine Aspinall will bring the performances to life at the Rowntree Theatre, with the cast pulling off impressive dance moves while singing songs such as Cool, The Rumble and America.
People planning to visit York later this year can head to the Rowntree Theatre from September 16th to 19th to see a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera Patience.
