Art enthusiasts staying in cheap hotels in London will be able to visit an exhibition celebrating the achievement of the gallery from October 4th until January next year.

Founded in Paris in 1945 by Aime and Marguerite Maeght, the Galerie Maeght was one of the most influential and important art establishments of the 20th century, exhibiting artists with bold and creative new visions.

The exhibition at the Royal Academy will use the major pieces that Aime Maeght exhibited as a way of celebrating the major contributions that he made to art following the Second World War.

Some 70 works of art will feature in the display, including paintings, sculptures, prints and sketchbooks by the likes of Joan Miro, Alexander Calder, Alberto Giacometti and Georges Braque.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to learn all about the sense of creative optimism and innovation that took the art world by storm in post-war Paris.
