Royal Ascot Back in Town
Brits looking for a sunny break this weekend may need to look no further than Royal Ascot's return to Berkshire.
Following the 20-month redevelopment of the site, which saw the race meetings take place in York temporarily, the event now has improved facilities for competitors and visitors.
Starting today and lasting for five days, the meeting will feature a "simply outstanding", show of horseracing, with over £3.5 million in prize money, according to its organisers.
"Royal Ascot is an occasion not to be missed," claim officials.
"The action on the track is matched only by the fashions on display, with a colourful array of outfits and hats creating one of the most sophisticated and elegant events in the summer calendar," the organisers add.
Royal Ascot attracts around 300,000 people to Berkshire, making it Europes most popular race meeting.
The event is in fact widely regarded as the worlds most famous meeting, dating back to 1711 and steeped in tradition and history.
