Say Happy Birthday, Your Majesty in June
People staying in cheap hotels in London in June may get the unusual privilege of being able to say happy birthday to Queen Elizabeth II.
While the Queen's actual birthday is on April 21st, it is traditional to celebrate it in the summer, to heighten the chance of good weather.
This year, the monarch's birthday will be marked on June 14th, with a traditional trooping the colour ceremony.
The event will involve more than 1,400 officers and soldiers on parade, as well as 200 horses, 400 musicians from ten bands and the corps of drums.
Visitors will be able to position themselves at a number of locations in central London to get a good look at the spectacle, with the parade route extending from Buckingham Palace, along the Mall to Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and back again.
The Queen herself will arrive at 11:00, at which time she will receive a royal salute and inspect the troops.
After the event, the royal family will gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to observe an RAF fly-past, a moment that will be enjoyed by hundreds of people in the surrounding area.
