Schedule Announced for Edinburgh Film Festival

The schedule for the annual Edinburgh film festival has been revealed and this year it features a host of home-grown British talent.

Industry ezine iofilm reports that the event is to feature highlights such as the new Pixar film, Shane Meadows' Somers Town, Duane Hopkins' Better Things and a preview of the new Terence Davies film Of Time and City.

Film fans will be pleased to hear that Sir Sean Connery and Tilda Swinton are likely to attend some of the festival, in their roles as patrons.

Artistic director Hannah McGill told the online publication: "I think this is a Festival that reflects an active, vibrant world film culture - and suits the diverse and daring tastes of our audience."

However, those hoping to secure rooms in cheap hotels during the event had better move fast as Edinburgh is often filled with tourists during the summer.

The city hosts the Fringe comedy festival, the Military Tattoo and the Tastes of Edinburgh food festival.

It also contains a number of tourist attractions, including the castle and place.
