Scotland to Host France in World Cup Film Festival

Scotland to host France in World Cup film festival The popular French film Amelie is to be screened at the Scotsman hotel in Edinburgh.

As part of the hotel's World-Cup of Cinema season, Amelie has been selected as France's entrant into the entertainment.

The film will be screened on July 2nd 2006, although France could already be out of the tournament if they fail to beat Spain in their second round clash on June 27th.

Since the World Cup began, Passport to Pimlico has been shown as England's representative, while Cinema Paradiso was chosen from Italy and Evita for Argentina, reports the Scotsman.

The five-star hotel, located on the city's historical North Bridge, has 56 bedrooms and 12 Suites, each different in shape, interior design and size.

The common thread throughout all the rooms is the use of genuine Scottish Estate tweeds as part of the interior design, with four dozen estates consenting to allow the hotel to use this unique part of the Scottish heritage.
