See Bond Bound in Edinburgh
James Bond fans interested in expanding their knowledge of all things related to the suave secret agent may fancy paying a visit to Edinburgh's City Art Centre this summer.
The gallery will host the exhibition Bond Bound, which looks at the work of 007 creator Ian Fleming and the art of cover design, until September 14th this year.
Fleming's first novel featuring James Bond Casino Royale propelled the MI6 operative into the world's cultural consciousness thanks to the book's heady mixture of sex, style and violence.
Since then, more than 100 million copies of the Bond novels have been sold worldwide, providing plenty of work for cover designers.
Bond Bound explores the role that artists have played in creating the Bond brand, through book jackets, film posters, letters and previously unseen archive material.
The display stretches back more than half a century and also provides a number of interesting insights into issues such as feminism, attitudes towards sex and the changing international climate.
