Squash and Go

Squash and go For squash lovers, a major highlight of the year is the UK National Squash Championships, which are to be held at the Sportcity Velodrome in Manchester from February 11th to the 18th.

The venue, also used for cycling, will be a showcase of the finest squash talent in the UK, with the usual competitive edge likely to be hardened further by the race for places in the 2008 Olympic team.

Entry to the event costs from £5-18, although the qualifying rounds on the first two days can be watched for free.

Outside the velodrome, Manchester and its environs offer a wide range of things for visitors to see and do.

There is outstanding shopping and nightlife in the revived city centre, a wide range of accommodation, including cheap hotels, world famous attractions such as the Manchester United museum and the Halle Orchestra.

Manchester also makes a good base to visit nearby national parks such as the Peak District, Lake District and Snowdonia.
