Tate Modern Explores Urban History of Photography
London's Tate Modern will this year chart the evolution of photography and the many forms that it can take at an exhibition called Street and Studio: An Urban History of Photography.
This wide-ranging exploration of international photography will present the history of the medium via the street as well as the artist's studio.
Visitors will be able to appreciate the key differences between these two sources of production and the exhibition will contrast images captured in the chaos of public life and the control of the studio.
More than 350 striking pieces will be included in the show, by some of the world's most famous photographers, including Diane Arbus, Cecil Beaton, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Cindy Sherman.
The images will span periods from the late 1800s to the modern day and show subjects ranging from businessmen to criminals.
People staying in cheap hotels in London can find the Tate Modern on the south bank of the Thames, where the Street and Studio exhibition will be on display from May 22nd until August 31st.
