The Homecoming Heads to York Theatre Royal

The Homecoming heads to York Theatre Royal Harold Pinter's masterpiece The Homecoming is to be staged at York's Theatre Royal from the end of May.

Set in north London in the 1960s, the play follows the return to England of teacher Teddy and his new wife, Ruth, and their struggle to adapt and get on with the family and friends he left behind.

The production will run from May 30th to June 20th, with the Theatre Royal well-positioned for those looking to combine an evening meal with a play during a short break in a cheap hotel in York.

The Homecoming is often acclaimed as Pinter's greatest work, scooping the Tony Award for the best play of 1967, the year in which it was released.

The Bafta and Nobel Prize winner has also won critical praise for most of his other work, including plays such as The Birthday Party, The Dumb Waiter and The Caretaker.

Before audiences in York get to enjoy Pinter, they will be able to see new productions of Twelfth Night and Dinnerladies, both of which are on at the Theatre Royal.
