Tickets Go on Sale for Edinburgh Hogmanay
Partygoers planning stays in cheap hotels in Edinburgh for New Year's Eve will be interested to hear that tickets have gone on sale for the Hogmanay street party.
Tickets for 2008-09 are priced at £10 but people who buy their passes soon after they go on sale, on October 3rd, may be able to get a limited number of tickets for £5.
The Hogmanay street party, which has been named one of the top 100 things to do before you die, will run from 9pm until 1am.
Some 100,000 revellers are set to gather along Princes Street and Gardens for the party this year to enjoy an evening of fun against the backdrop of the Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile.
Pete Irvine, the event's creative director, said: "With top name acts and fireworks to make sure we bring in 2009 with a bang, Edinburgh's Hogmanay offers something for everyone as musicians and DJs, across a number of stages, bring the streets of Edinburgh alive with music and an electric atmosphere."
Steve Cardownie of Edinburgh City Council added: "£10 for a night of music, fireworks and electric atmosphere is a fantastic deal by anyone's standards, so the promotional offer of £5 per pass is definitely one not to be missed."
