Treat Your Taste Buds in York

Families staying in cheap hotels in York next month are invited to head to the city's Festival of Food and Drink.

The ten-day event held between September 19th and 28th will give visitors the opportunity to try some culinary delights from some of York's top chefs.

Venues across town will be opening up their doors to hungry punters and will offer up some lavish lunches and sumptuous suppers to tempt the taste buds.

Held since 1997, the event remains as popular as ever with restaurants offering cheap meals to visitors and chefs heading to the Festival Food Theatre in St Sampson's Square to demonstrate their talents.

As well as markets to browse and buy local delights there is also the chance to wash it all down at various wine tasting sessions.

This year, organisers have chose the theme Better Food, Less Waste to raise awareness among food fanatics about cutting down on waste food and packaging.
