Visit London Announces Award Nominees
People planning trips to cheap hotels in London have been offered a guide to the city's best attractions and experiences with the shortlists for the 2008 Visit London Awards.
The nominees in one of the most high-profile categories, the best tourism experience, include the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, the Royal Observatory Greenwich, Vinopolis, the Wembley stadium tour and BBC tours.
On the shortlist for the visitor attraction of the year award are the London Dungeon, the Wellcome Collection, the London Eye, the National Maritime Museum, the Science Museum and the London Transport Museum.
In the sports tourism section, the potential winners include the London Freewheel event, the Flora London Marathon, the O2, the Wembley stadium tour and Sandown Park.
Visit London chief executive James Bidwell said: "The Visit London Awards celebrate our capital's tourism offer and recognise and reward outstanding achievement.
"We have received a record number of entries of the highest calibre and the shortlisting process was tough. I congratulate the finalists and wish them the best of luck on awards night."
The awards, which will also recognise areas such as accommodation, business travel, sustainability and accessibility, will be handed out at the Royal Albert Hall on November 27th.
