York Hosts Me and My Girl

People staying in cheap hotels in York in April will be able to catch a new production of a classic British musical.

The popular Me and My Girl will be staged at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York from April 15th to 19th.

Bill Snibson, the lead character in the musical, is a chirpy cockney lad who learns that he is in line for British nobility.

His relatives try to smarten Bill up for his new life as a noble and attempt to change some elements of his life, including his cockney girlfriend.

There is plenty of tap-dancing and music along the way, including the crowd-pleasing numbers The Lambeth Walk, The Sun has got his hat on and Leaning on the Lamp Post.

Preceding Me and My Girl at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre will be one of the best-known musicals of all – Fame, which will be staged between March 31st and April 5th.

This renowned show tells the story of a group of young performers hoping to graduate from New York's High School of Performing Arts and make it big in showbusiness.
