York Museum Explores India

York museum explores India The National Railway Museum in York is currently giving visitors a taste of India through its latest acclaimed special exhibition.

Entitled 'India on the Move', the exhibition, which is due to run until September 7th, features a series of films and photographs shot by the award-winning documentary maker Gerry Troyna focusing on railways in the Asian nation.

These include tales told from the point of view of characters as diverse as a senior executive to penniless street children who eke out a living on the tracks.

In addition, the museum, which is easy to reach for people staying in cheap hotels in York, has now announced the introduction of its 'Dream Sequence' feature, which mixes a serious documentary on Indian railways with the glamour and music of Bollywood.

This latest exhibition sits alongside the permanent exhibits of the National Railway Museum, including a replica of Stephenson's historic Rocket locomotive, as well as a genuine Mallard, the fastest steam train in history.

Furthermore, the inclusion of a Royal Train featuring a carriage used by Queen Victoria, as well as a viewing platform overlooking York station, make the museum one of the most popular attractions among visitors enjoying a break in a cheap hotel in York.
