Zorro Lays Siege to London Stage
People staying in cheap hotels in London later this year will have a new musical extravaganza to keep them entertained in the West End.
Zorro the Musical will open for preview shows at the Garrick Theatre from June 30th and open to the public on July 15th.
Created by pulp writer Johnston McCulley in 1919, the character of Zorro has seen many incarnations over the years, featuring in films, books, television series and even computer games.
Zorro is the secret identity of Don Diego de la Vega, a wealthy caballero whose skill with a sword allows him to help victims of injustice.
The new West End show will be choreographed by famous dancer Rafael Amargo and feature some of the world's best flamenco dancers.
Christopher Renshaw will direct the production, having previously worked on The King and I and We Will Rock You.
