New York City is also referred to as the Big Apple by many around the world and is a major starting point for many tourists who visit the USA.
Illinois
The largest city and probably the most famous in Illinois is Chicago, due to its gangsters and crime through the probation days. Illinois is Americas 21st state and was founded in 1818 on December the 3rd. Chicago is also known as the windy centre because of the winds coming down from Canada. The population of Illinois is 12,714.000 and the highest point is unnamed but stands at 370 metres. The capital city of Illinois is Springfield. The state is nicknamed the Land of Lincoln.
