Star Wars fanatics may not have any more films to look forward to – though you never know – but they can still feel the force in the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

In a touring exhibition running at the museum until December 31st, a vast range of props, models and gadgets from all six films will be on display.

With life-size reconstructions of craft and spaceships used in the films, the chance to design a spacecraft and the opportunity to encounter technology such as magnetic levitation, the event is a fully interactive one which should delight kids of all ages.

Outside the festival, the city of Portland and surrounding state of Oregon have plenty to offer.

The area is renowned for its real ales and wines, with festivals for both, while the city itself features many bridges as the River Willamette snakes through as well as a variety of public gardens.

Outdoor adventure enthusiasts can enjoy a visit to the Mount Hood Glacier, go whitewater rafting or enjoy the Multnomer Falls.
