An Old and Small New York
A miniaturised version of New York will be available for all to see at the city's Botanical Garden this year when the popular Holiday Train Show takes to the rails.
Running from November 23rd to January 13th, this exhibition will see model trains and trolleys decorated with festive twinkling lights and sent around networks of bridges and tracks that wind past some of New York's most famous landmarks.
A range of different plants are used to replicate different buildings and structures.
The Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge and Yankee Stadium will all be represented in the form of orange slices, cinnamon sticks, pine cones and other natural objects.
Visitors to the Holiday Train Show this year will be able to enjoy some new creations with a 'gateway' theme.
Ellis Island, the symbol of America to the million of immigrants that arrived on its shores, and George Washington Bridge will be among the new elements of this year's show.
People staying in cheap hotels in New York over Christmas can find the Botanical Garden on the Bronx River Parkway at Fordham Road.
