Arts of Asia Come to New York
New York City's Gramercy Park Armory will enable its visitors to explore the arts of Pacific Asia in a fair this year.
This event will feature antique items including Chinese ceramics, embroidered robes and jade dating back to the time of Emperor Ch'ien Lung and the Ch'ing dynasty.
Buddhist monks used to use paintbrushes and ink to illustrate their thoughts on enlightenment and a number of Zen paintings from Japan will be included in the fair.
People staying in cheap hotels in New York will also be able to examine bronze sculptures from Tibet, where metallurgy is a tradition with centuries of history.
According to Antiques and the Arts Weekly, the Arts of Pacific Asia show is the largest and most international Asian art fair in New York City.
Art lovers staying in hotels in New York will find plenty to keep them interested at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which this year has hosted shows covering topics including fashion, Oceanic art and 19th century European painting and sculpture.
