Visitors to Washington DC in August had better come hungry, because a major highlight of the city's calendar is being dished up all over town.
Restaurant week is a bi-annual event when the top 100 or so eateries in the capital offer set gourmet meals for extremely reasonable prices, with the summer event taking place between August 6th and 12th.
Participating restaurants are offering set three-course lunches at $30.07 (£15) plus tax and evening meals at $20.07 plus tax.
All this means that visitors staying in cheap hotels in the city can eat like kings for very reasonable prices, making the most of the exchange rate.
In addition to the food, visitors can see a wide range of museums and monuments which mark out Washington's status as the national capital, such as the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress and the Jefferson Memorial.
Some may well choose to explore the city on foot in order to burn off all those delicious calories.
