Carnaval Time in Miami

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Miami at the end of February and beginning of March this year will find it hard to miss the Carnaval Miami, the city's annual festival dedicated to the Hispanic community.

This ten-day event sees the area whipped up into a frenzy of fun and celebration as partygoers attend sports events, concerts and parties and enjoy plenty of food and music.

The Carnaval Miami concludes with the famous Calle Ocho festival, which is often referred to as the world's largest block party.

Over 1.5 million people gather in south Florida every year for this event, which includes among its attractions a cooking contest and a domino tournament.

Golf fans will be happy to hear that there is a competition at the Miccosukee resort in Kendall, which sees business executives from local companies competing against each other.

Revellers can also enjoy some music at a Latin jazz festival or enjoy the 'evening of indulgence', which features fine foods and an art exhibition, on March 1st.
