Catch the Next Wave in Brooklyn

Catch the Next Wave in Brooklyn Brooklyn's New Wave Festival began on October 2nd and will run up until December 16th, giving visitors staying in hotels in New York the chance to enjoy some of the world's most innovative artistry.

The event, which is hosted at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), is designed to connect some of the most daring and creative figures in the fields of music, theatre and dance with some of New York's most adventurous and open-minded audiences.

Among the events on this year's calendar is The Gate, a musical work composed and conceived by innovative Chinese artist Tan Dun and performed by the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, which will show on December 5th, 7th and 8th.

Dun was the man behind the Academy Award-winning score for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and also composed The First Emperor for the Metropolitan Opera.

Au Revoir Parapluie will also be showing at various times between December 4th and 16th.

This stage show represents the return to BAM of James Thierree, who attracted praise two years ago when his debut Bright Abyss played to sell-out crowds at the New Wave Festival.
