Crazy in Chicago R 'n' B diva Beyoncé is set to wow audiences at the United Centre on August the 18th midway through her US tour.

The tour comes on the back of her second solo album after leaving hit band Destiny's Child, B'Day, released on her 25th birthday, which has topped charts all over the world.

According to her father and manager, Matthew Knowles, shd has sold more than 140 million records, over half of which have been sold outside the US.

She caught the world's attention as lead singer of the trio Destiny's Child, which broke up in 2005, before going on to act in films, notably the Mike Myers Austin Powers film, Goldmember.

According to her biography on About.com, however, she began performing at about age seven.

Miss Knowles is the first African-American woman to win song writing industry association Ascap's Songwriter of the Year award.

She was awarded five Grammy's for her album Dangerously in Love and was the first female artist to have a number one single and album in the US and the UK at the same time.

The evening kicks off, and possibly gyrates too, at 7.30pm.
