Experience Opera at New York's Met

Experience opera at New York's Met Anybody with a love for opera or those with a burgeoning interest that needs nurturing will be able to experience the very best examples of the art form at New York's Metropolitan Opera in February.

Throughout the month there will be showings of some of the most loved and best known operas in history, including Georges Bizet's Carmen.

Bizet's compositions for this production are among the most definitive ever created, with pieces such as the Toreador Song and the Habanera having taken on a life of their own.

The work of another of opera's giants, Giuseppe Verdi, will also be included in the Met's programme for February as the Italian composer's Otello, an adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello, takes to the stage.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in New York in February will also have the opportunity to enjoy Rossini's The Barber of Seville and Puccini's Manon Lescaut.
