Fab First in Florida

Fab First in Florida Mention Miami to some and they will think no further than beaches, palm trees and the strong Latin American culture of the city, but the Miami Science Museum will allow people to see a long way beyond that.

It's not that there's anything wrong with the culture, weather and seaside, of course, but the first Friday in every month has been labelled Fabulous First Friday by the museum and October is no exception.

Offering a genuinely out-of-this-world experience, the planetarium offers a live star show at 19:30 local time followed (weather permitting) by the opening up of the Weintraub Observatory, giving visitors staying in cheap hotels in Miami the chance to explore the wonders of the universe.

This star attraction is followed by a laser show lasting till late, for which the museum has set a price of $7 (£3.50) for Adults and $4 for children.

Such an attraction will certainly give a sense of perspective to visitors as they consider the fact that the stars out outnumber the grains of sand on Miami Beach.
