Films and Food in Florida

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Orlando this spring will be able to enjoy movies accompanied by good food at the Florida Film Festival.

Taking place between March 28th and April 6th, this event will premiere some of the most recent work in independent cinema while also offering indulgent experiences in food and wine.

More than 1,500 submissions were made for this year's festival and a total of 150 films from 30 countries will comprise the final programme.

Entries will be judged in categories including documentary features and shorts, animated shorts and world feature films.

There will also be non-competition categories such as the spotlight section, which will premiere new films coming out this year, and midnight movies, which will provide amusement, shock and surprise in equal measure.

Over its 17-year history, the Florida Film Festival has welcomed a quarter of a million guests and hundreds of celebrities, including Paul Newman, Christopher Walken and Oliver Stone.
