Get Swept Away by Superheroes in New York
New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art will launch a thorough exploration of the cultural phenomenon of the superhero this summer.
Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy will be on show at the Met until September 1st.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in New York will be able to learn more about the symbolic and metaphorical associations that exist between superheroes and fashion.
Featuring real costumes from movies, high-performance sportswear and haute couture, the exhibition looks at how clothing is used in comics and movies as a method of empowering the human body.
Display items are organised thematically relating to particular superheroes, who will be the subject of discussions relating to a range of subjects.
On June 22nd there will be a series of lectures and panel events at the Met, exploring in detail the theme of fashion in the world of the superhero.
