Get Wranglin' in Vegas
Being a cowboy may seem like an alien and antiquated concept for most people around the world, but for a certain set of people in the USA it is alive and well.
From December 6th to 15th the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, where America's top cowboys and cowgirls gather to compete for a handsome reward.
Some 120 people take part in the event, battling in categories including bareback riding, bull riding, team roping and barrel racing.
The NFR has some claims to fame in its history, with Freckles Brown among the previous winners of the competition.
For those who don't already know, Freckles was the first man to ride Tornado, a 1,850-pound bull, for a full eight seconds.
The NFR was brought to Las Vegas in 1984 and has been a wildly popular event for over two decades, a period of time that has seen the number of annual visitors to the Nevada city jump from 14.2 million to around 37 million.
Las Vegas is now home to numerous cheap hotels that play host to many of these millions of visitors every year.
