Bourgeois, now 96 years old, has been an important figure in numerous modern art movements over the decades and continues to create new work today.

The Guggenheim exhibition, which people staying in cheap hotels in New York will be able to visit from June 27th until September 28th, will look at her involvement in Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Post-Minimalism and more.

While she has experimented in various art-forms, Bourgeois is best known for her sculptures, which include pieces in wood, bronze, latex, marble and fabric.

Displayed alongside the main exhibition will be a selection of images providing an overview of Bourgeois' life, showing the many overlapping roles and identities she has assumed over the years.

Visitors to New York will find the Guggenheim Museum on 89th Street off 5th Avenue.
