The event in question is the World Beer Festival, held in the city of Durham on October 6th at the town's Athletic Park.
Offering beer, music, food, and fun, the event offers visitors staying in cheap hotels a chance to have a great time and try out lots of local produce in an atmospheric big tent full of like-minded people.
As well as the festival, Durham is a city with a big academic reputation, being home to Duke University, one of the prestigious Ivy League, America's answer to Oxbridge.
It has plenty of arts and sport to enjoy, while nature lovers can visit the Museum of Life and Science, which offers nature trails and a number of model dinosaurs, which those who have had one beer too many could mistake for the real thing.
