Kick It at the Carnival in San Diego

Anybody planning a stay in a hotel in San Diego in early February should make sure they are in the mood for a party as the city hosts its Brazil Carnival.

The 16th annual Brazilian Mardi Gras ball will be hosted at the '4th and B' venue, which the organisers claim is the best carnival site on the west coast, on February 2nd.

It will feature a number of carnival bands, capoeira parades and plenty of people adorned in the traditional Mardi Gras beads.

One of the highlights of the event will be the 'spectacular samba show', which will involve dancers in stunning costumes decorated with sequins, beads and feathers accompanied by percussionists proving catchy Brazilian rhythms.

Over its 16 years, the San Diego carnival has developed a reputation as one of the largest and most authentic celebrations of all things Brazilian outside the South American country itself.

The Californian city of San Diego is located in the far south-west of the United States on the country's border with Mexico.
