Met Shows off Its Collection

Met shows off its collection New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art has put some of its permanent collection on display until July 14th this year.

The museum has selected a number of pieces from its archive that were created between the 16th and 19th centuries.

All of the works are European drawings and prints, including once recently attributed to 16th century Italian master Parmigianino.

Also on show is a selection of French drawings and Italian mannerist prints from the same period.

The 18th century is widely represented in the exhibition, with prints by artists including Jean-Honore Fragonard, Gabriel de Saint-Aubin and Philibert-Louis Debucourt, as well as German rococo ornament drawings.

People staying in cheap hotels in New York with an interest in British art will be able to see a range of portraits and life drawings, as well as etchings by Thomas Stothard of the Wellington Shield.
