Miami Film Festival Schedule Revealed

A partial schedule for the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival has been released, according to reports, giving a glimpse of what film fans can see during a trip to Miami.

The tenth annual edition of the festival - which will run in the Florida city from April 25th to May 4th - will use a number of locations across the city to screen films, the Advocate reports.

The Gusman Centre for the Performing Arts and the Colony Theatre will both show films as part of the festival, with the opening gala night seeing a screening of Breakfast With Scot, the tale of a former professional ice hockey play who gets temporary custody of an 11-year-old orphan.

According to the film festival's website, most of the screenings will take place in the "historic" South Beach area of Miami, suggesting this would be a good place to find a cheap hotel for visitors.

The Advocate also notes that the festival will pay tribute to filmmaker Christine Vachon.

Listed among the goals of the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival website is the desire to "enrich, entertain and educate the public".
