A number of experts were chosen to pick the seven must-visit places including National Geographic Society photographer Annie Griffith Belt, Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History and Patricia Schultz, author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.
As well as New York City were other breathtaking sites such as the Grand Canyon and Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Preserve.
