New York Museum Hosts Film Festival

New York museum hosts film festival People who book a cheap hotel in New York might be interested in seeing a film by an up-and-coming director at the Museum of Modern Art.

The Directors/New Films Festival is organised by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The annual festival provides a platform for new work and emerging artists to gain more recognition from a wider audience.

In the past, festival-goers have seen works from new directors including Spike Lee, Steven Spielberg, Pedro Almodovar and Peter Greenaway since its beginning in 1972.

This year, its 39th, the festival will show over 20 films from 19 different countries from March 24th until April 4th.

Opening the festival in true style will be a work by New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham, creating a portrait of the diverse city, while closing the event is a film called I Killed my Mother, a French picture exposing the limits of love and a man's relationship with his mother.

Visitors can book tickets for the festival on its website.
