New York to Host Landmark Picasso Show
Art enthusiasts planning stays in cheap hotels in New York next year should remember to pay a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art during their break.
The institute will launch a major showcase of work by Pablo Picasso on April 27th, which will run until August 1st.
It is the first exhibition to focus exclusively on the museum's collection of pieces by the great artist.
Visitors will be able to see around 150 works that offer a fascinating insight into every stage of Picasso's career, from his Blue and Rose periods to his experiments with Cubism and portraiture.
The display will include paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints, as well as ceramics that have never been seen in their entirety.
New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art will also host some exhibitions that explore Chinese culture next year.
A selection of around 100 works that were created for or by Xie Zhiliu, who was one of the country's leading artists and connoisseurs in the 20th century, will go on display from February 6th to July 25th.
