Nippy Day in Summer Sunshine
Those who love their seafood will be able to go crustacean crazy if they nip up to Maine in August, with the Maine Lobster Festival taking place in the town of Rockland between August 1st and 5th.
It features everything from parades starring King Neptune to cooking contests, a blindfold boat race to a 10k run and of course a vast amount of lobster being served up daily, with a wide range of dishes including other seafood.
Organisers advise that entry to the festival is free on the first day, $10 (£5) on the next three days and $7 on the last day, while advance tickets for stage shows cost $30.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels can also get their claws into a range of other activities in Rockland.
There are miles upon miles of rugged and rocky coastline to explore, an interesting old lighthouse and plenty of good shopping.
