Not Boatless in Seattle

For boat lovers the city of Seattle in Washington State may be just the place to go this winter, with the 60th annual boat show taking place in the city.

Held between January 25th and February 3rd, organisers promise the biggest show of its kind on the west coast, with no less than 1,000 boats, plus 200 locally owned vessels also moored in the marina near the venue at the Qwest Field Event Centre.

Water enthusiasts can enjoy browsing through (and possibly buying) a wide range of crafts, accessories and marine-related services. Quite literally, whatever floats their boat, visitors can find it here.

Away from the water, Seattle has many other attractions for visitors.

Popular land-lubbing activities include visiting the Art museum and the Frey Art museum, which have significant collections of native American art, while outside the city the Washington cascades offer skiing and outdoor sports.
