NYC Restaurant Week Extended This Summer
NYC & Company, the official tourism marketing organisation for New York City, has announced that NYC Restaurant Week will run for three weeks rather than the usual two this summer.
People staying in cheap hotels in New York will be able to visit hundreds of restaurants across the city from July 12th to 31st that will offer three-course prix-fixe lunches for $24.07 (£14.80) and dinners for $35 (£21.50).
NYC & Company announced the extended dates via Twitter and will continue to use the blogging site to provide information on special offers, opportunities for last-minute bookings and celebrity chef appearances.
Angela Tribelli, a spokeswoman for the firm, said: "NYC & Company is excited to be able to take advantage of its growing Twitter presence to reach NYC Restaurant Week fans in a new way.
"By giving avid diners access to insider information and exclusive booking information, we plan to grow our online audience while providing them with real value during NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2009 and beyond."
