NYC Restaurant Week 'to be biggest ever' Travellers staying in cheap hotels in New York this winter will be able to experience the biggest-ever NYC Restaurant Week.

Marketing organisation NYC & Company confirmed that more than 260 eateries are set to take part in the initiative, representing the largest dining programme since the event began in 1992.

There will be a number of new additions, including Ze Cafe and the Libertine, as well as the NYC Restaurant Week Truck, which will drive through Manhattan serving gourmet soup to chilly tourists and locals.

Visitors will also be able to sample the cuisine on offer at old favourites such as The Sea Grill and Delmonico's Steakhouse.

George Fertitta, chief executive of NYC & Company, said: "In its 19th year, NYC Restaurant Week continues to evolve while remaining accessible and affordable for New York City residents and visitors.

"The programme's expansion is a testament to the value and success of the dining event, which continues to be well received season after season."

People visiting New York will be able to order three-course lunches for $24.07 (£15) and dinners for $35 during NYC Restaurant Week.

The winter 2010 edition will run from January 25th to February 7th.
