Paint the Town Tartan

Paint the town tartan Visitors to New York in April may find the Big Apple is more like Edinburgh for one day, as the ninth New York Annual Tartan Parade takes place on April 14th.

Those interested in bagpipes, tartan and the various clans that hail from the highlands and lowlands can come and watch or, if they are handy with the famous instrument and possessed of a good kilt, take part.

Following the parade through lower Manhattan, organisers have announced that SCHOCHA and McTalla Mor are lined up to provide some traditional music at the post-march party.

Apart from seeing all things Caledonian, visitors staying in cheap hotels have a wide range of things to see and do in the city that never sleeps.

These vary from taking a trip up the Empire State Building to visiting the Statue of Liberty, shopping in Macy's to taking a breather in the oasis that is Central Park.
