Sample Some American Pie in Orlando
Travellers staying in cheap hotels in Orlando this April will get to experience a true national tradition at the Great American Pie Festival.
Taking place at Lakeside Park on April 19th and 20th, this event includes a veritable feast of pie-related activities.
From cooking demonstrations to children's pie-making classes, pie-eating contests to the famous never-ending pie buffet, lovers of pies of every variety will be spoilt for choice at this festival.
The event is hosted by the American Pie Council, the only organisation dedicated to preserving the United States' pie heritage and promoting the country's love affair with the foodstuff.
Visitors to Orlando in April will also be able to check out an event organised to coincide with the Great American Pie Festival – the National Pie Championships.
Amateur pie makers, professional bakers and commercial companies from across the US and Canada have been competing in this contest since 1995.
The competition takes place at the Orlando Sun Resort and Convention Centre between April 18th and 20th.
